Photographer David Margules is credited for his historic capturing of the aftermath of September 11th, 2001 and beyond by taking over 10,000 photographs. These images capture every step of the recovery work in "the pit" that remained. Mr. Margules was one of the only civilians with access to "the pit" throughout the months-long recovery operation at the World Trade Center site. This book is a tribute to the work of many First Responders, Rescue and Recovery works. Many of whom he developed close ties to over his time as a volunteer photographer, and still remains.
