9/11: A Time of Reflection Twenty Five Years Later

In 2021, Charles Fazzino was commissioned by the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to create an artwork that preserved the visual history of the terrible events of 9/11 while at the same time, celebrating the resilience of his beloved hometown, its people, and an entire country. Five years later, he has been tasked with the same mission: to create a 25th anniversary commemorative that contributes to not only our collective remembrance of that day and its aftermath but again celebrates the strength and fortitude of a nation coming together.

"Every year, on September 11th, I take a few moments to reflect. My heart aches for the souls who were lost on that fateful day, but I also think about how despite forces well beyond our control, we came together to aide and protect each other under the darkest circumstances. September 11th was one of the worst moments in human history, but it revealed the best of humanity, and I created this artwork to remind us that we are always capable of rising above if we come together." -- Charles Fazzino
