On 9/11, the FDNY Emergency Medical Service was deployed to the World Trade Center in the moments following the crash of hijacked Flight 11 into the North Tower. More than 100 city and volunteer ambulances were dispatched to the scene within the first hour. That morning, 7 EMS first responders lost their lives in the line of duty. Their bravery and sacrifice will not be forgotten.
