This photo, taken by Paula Barr, is of downtown workers, residents, and visitors often gathered on the World Trade Center plaza for concerts and other outdoor programs. Their vast scale, reflective surfaces and striking gothic arches created by the three-pronged steel tridents at the base of the Twin Towers inspired professional and amateur photographers. Even before construction was complete, the towers were photographed at all times of the day and from every perspective. Two tridents that once stood at the base of the North Tower now stand in the 9/11 Memorial Museum.
