[THEY] Witnessed Volunteered Sacrificed Responded is a collaborative effort between Fashion Has Heart (FHH) and the 9/11 Memorial. FHH is a non-profit organization whose mission is to work directly with wounded veterans. Each year, FHH invites five wounded heroes, one from each branch of the U.S armed services, to collaborate with designated artists. [They] is a result of this collaboration and created in tribute to all first responders as well as to the men and women in our armed forces.
The 9/11 Memorial and Museum are possible only through your support.
After 9/11, Americans demonstrated their patriotism in many ways, flying the American flag on car antennas and placing it in the windows of their homes and businesses. Flag motifs were painted on the sides of barns and city buildings. The flag appeared on T-shirts, lapel pins, bumper stickers, and holiday decorations. Some people felt so strongly about the flag that they included the Stars and Stripes in tattoos commemorating the attacks. Together Americans gave each other strength and hope for the future.
